The Remote Sensing for Digital Earth unit at Fondazione Bruno Kessler is part of the Digital Society center.

RSDE develops advanced methods and systems for satellite and airborne remotely sensed image processing in Earth Observation (EO). Attention is devoted to the analysis and interpretation of multitemporal data, and their possible use in several fields of environmental monitoring, including urban areas monitoring, cryosphere analysis, agriculture, forest inventory, etc. The wide range of solutions is possible by considering the range of remote sensing technologies (active and passive sensors, low to very high spatial resolution, multi- to hyper-spectral data, LiDAR, sounder, etc.) and the opportunity of synergic use with complementary data sources (e.g., data from sensor networks, mobile phones, social media).
