Youkyung Han received the B.S. degree in civil, urban and geo-system engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 2007, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in civil and environmental engineering from Seoul National University, Seoul, Korea, in 2009 and 2013, respectively. He spent almost 2 years as a postdoctoral researcher of the Remote Sensing for Digital Earth unit at Fondazione Bruno Kessler (FBK), Trento, Italy. Now he has a tenure-track professor position in the Department of the Convergence and Fusion System Engineering, Kyungpook National University, Korea.

In 2014, he was awarded by the International Postdoctoral Fellowship Program of the National Research Foundation of Korea (NRF). His major research interests include image processing of very high resolution remote sensing data such as image-to-image registration, segmentation, classification, object extraction, and change detection. He recently has further interests on the analysis of multispectral/hyperspectral and multi-temporal/hyper-temporal images. He has served as a reviewer for IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, Photogrammetric Engineering and Remote Sensing, and Remote Sensing.
